Anybody who listens to this podcast knows I am an unashamed fan of BMW motorcycles. I’m also deeply involved with the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, the title sponsors of this very podcast.
Yet I strive not to cram BMW motorcycles down the throats of our listeners, because I know with many riders come many motorcycles, and I firmly believe we can all find our best bike to ride and coexist on (and off) the roads all over the world.
Here we are then, 127 episodes into our favorite motorcycle podcast, and it’s time to feature somebody from BMW Motorrad at long last. Our discussion with Shawn McLean, Product & Accessories Manager for BMW NA, joins us specifically to talk about BMW’s new all-electric CE 04 urban runabout (aka scooter, though is scooter really the right word?) – and because you all know us at this point, so much more.
Our news segment in this episode is heavily focused on the promising sales numbers put up across the industry in 2021, including specifics about Ducati and BMW, who both enjoyed record sales last year. It also looks as if Ducati will prove us wrong and actually deliver their MotoE all-electric race bike on time … though we’re not counting those chickens just yet. They have a long way to go. Still … the bike looks fantastic!!
Thanks to webBikeWorld for funneling news our way, and be sure to check out their website for the latest motorcycle news and in-depth product reviews.
Since we don’t have a Patreon page for you to visit, the easiest way to support Chasing the Horizon is by joining the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. Digital memberships are $39 a year and traditional memberships are $49 a year; each come with a wide range of member benefits, including access (digital or in your mailbox) to BMW Owners News, the MOA’s monthly magazine. You also get access to one of the best roadside assistance programs for motorcycles available (sorry, only applies to the US), become eligible for a $250 motorcycle training scholarship every year, up to $500 off a new BMW motorcycle, discount tickets to great events and much, much more!
