Episode 155, in which we tour New England (and elsewhere) with three Moto Cycos

Going into business with two of your biker buddies is a serious matter, as any major obstacles could not only submerge the company, but destroy friendships as well. So far, Greg Mason, Pat Campbell and Scott Urwick seem to have it figured out. Under the moniker of Moto Cyco Touring Adventures, They’ve organized a number of tours in New England and the extended American Northeast, and they join your erstwhile host to discuss the minutiae of operating a motorcycle tour company, running a small business, riding and more.

Royal Enfield’s brand-new Himalayan 450 is a single cylinder of joy if the reviews are to be believed—and frankly, I’ve got no reason not to believe the reviews, given the strong showing from the previous 400 cc model. The company is having some difficulty with their August 2024 sales numbers, though, much unlike the fine folks at Triumph, who are looking at what could be a doubling of their unit sales in just five years. KTM is looking at laying off over 300 workers in their motorcycle division this year.

CE 02 spotted in the USA.

In electric and alternative propulsion news, BMW’s futuristic CE 02 is finally starting to enjoy a marketing push—primarily in India, though the e-scooter is on sale everywhere and spotted in both the USA (by me) and Norway (by my friend Mark, who provided this photo). Kawasaki’s hydrogen ICE-powered Ninja H2 is one step closer to its predicted 2030 street date.
