Episode 131, in which we WORLD SUPERBIKE WITH SCOTT REDDING!

Regular listeners know I’m a fan of World Superbike, and I’ve been working behind the scenes for a couple of years to get a WSBK rider on the show. Thanks to invaluable help from some key folks at BMW North America, one of whom is now named as an heir in my will, and the BMW Motorrad Motor Sport team in Germany, I’m pleased to announce this episode’s guest: SCOTT REDDING!

Scott is the newest addition to the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. He’s in his third season of WSBK; before that he won the British Superbike (BSB) title in 2019 and before that he competed in MotoGP, where for a four-year stretch he was the youngest race winner in that circuit’s history. Now he campaigns on BMW’s M-class superbike, the M 1000 RR, and so far this season he’s finished as high as 5th. I’d like to say he did so as a result of speaking with us, because indeed that race was after our session, but I know where the real skill lies.

Follow Scott on Instagram (@reddingpower) and subscribe to his YouTube channel to keep up with the action.

To tie in the brief news segment to the topic of racing, webBikeWorld ran a piece recently about a new YouTube series on the Isle of Man TT course. It’s utterly fascinating, of course, and I’ve embedded the first episode here for your watching enjoyment. Be sure to subscribe to Motorcycle Island for more!

Oh, by the way, Norton might be back again, this time with electric motorcycles. We’ll see what happens.
