I’ll be on the road for most of June and while I’ll be gathering discussions for future episodes, I won’t have my little production studio on the road with me. As a result, I won’t be making any new episodes until July, when Chasing the Horizon will return with brand-new discussions and the same analysis of the motorcycle industry you’re used to hearing. We’ll also be returning to our usual schedule of two episodes a month for the remainder of 2026.
In the meantime, I’ve chosen five episodes to republish—or recap, as I’m calling them—to re-introduce these guests to listeners who may not have been with us since August 2017. Yeah! Chasing the Horizon has been around for almost nine years! If you’d told me back then I’d make it this far when I started, I’d have no doubt laughed at you.
Here’s the schedule of Wayback episodes:
- 1 June: Clement Salvadori, author and moto-journalist who sadly passed away in early May.
- 8 June: Helge Pedersen from our first ever episode!
- 15 June: Peter Egan, author, moto-journalist and personal hero of mine despite his penchant for British bikes.
- 22 June: Richard Worsham, discussing Janus Motorcycles and his book, The Rambler’s Companion.
- 29 June: Doodle on a Motorcycle, who does have a real name but it’s her YouTube channel we all know and love.
If you’re a subscriber, you’ll get these episodes right along with everything else your apps serve up to you. If you’re a web listener, use the embeds below to listen as they become available. (You’ll see them all, the ones that haven’t been released yet will show a “Unable to load media” message—that’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Just come back in a week and the next one will be ready.) Keep in mind these episodes are in some cases more than a few years old, so we might talk about things that are no longer active, relevant or even in existence. There will be no news in these episodes.
In the meantime, I’ll be riding around the Mid-Atlantic and New England on my 1976 BMW R 90/6, visiting friends and family on the way to and from the MOA National Rally in Essex Junction, Vermont. If you’re within a few hundred miles, you should join us—sure, we’re a BMW motorcycle club, but we honestly don’t care what you ride. If you love motorcycle rallies and enjoy camping, we’ve got a place for you. Even if you don’t like camping—I don’t, after all, not any more—you can still come, you just need to find a place to stay. We have RV spots available at the fairgrounds, so if you travel that way, you’re good.
Since we don’t have a Patreon page for you to visit, the easiest way to support Chasing the Horizon is by joining the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. Get yourself a Traditional Membership or even a Digital Memberships (for $10 less); each come with a wide range of member benefits, including access (digital or in your mailbox) to BMW Owners News, the MOA’s monthly magazine. You also get access to one of the best roadside assistance programs for motorcycles available (sorry, only applies to the USA), become eligible for a $200 motorcycle training scholarship every year, periodic discounts on a new BMW motorcycles, discount tickets to great events and much, much more!
